Steven serves corporate and individual clients in the Los Angeles / SoCal area where he resides, in his hometown of Chicago, and internationally.
Over 21 years of professional performance experience, since his first paid performance at age 10, performing over 2,000 times, entertaining over 150,000 people, Steven Solomon is one of Los Angeles' and Chicago’s most talented, prolific, experienced and exciting in-demand musicians. He unites the world of jazz, pop, and classical into his music.
Steven started taking piano lessons at four and studied jazz and classical music formally for 18 years, through college where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in performance and Music Education.
Steven has a huge repertoire. He can go hours and hours at a gig without repeating a song and without any music in front of him. And when appropriate he loves taking requests and leading sing-alongs :)
Steven plays jazz, classical, pop, show tunes, oldies, patriotic, holiday, and all genres of music. He is also a singer, singer-songwriter, accomplished accompanist, arranger, music director, producer, music editor, studio musician and educator, and multi-instrumentalist. Steven writes, records, and performs original pop-rock music here.
At age 20 Steven had his debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City in a sold-old concert at the piano accompanying world-renowned Italian jazz musician Bepi Damato and composer-conductor Marco Renzi as the pianist in the Western Illinois University Jazz Studio Orchestra in 2010.
Steven has also performed across the nation. Along with the aforementioned performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City, he has played in Las Vegas at the Liberace Museum, in California at Disneyland’s Main Street Café, the Rincon Center in San Francisco, the Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone National Park, Lyon College in Arkansas and other national venues.
Internationally Steven has performed in Stockholm Sweden, Bristol England, Sofia Bulgaria, Athens Greece, and Kyiv Ukraine.
In the Los Angeles area, Steven has performed at the piano at events and at private parties of A-list celebrities, for top corporation special events and at venues including the Bar & Lounge at the Hotel Bel-Air, Gibson Guitar Showroom in Beverly Hills, Crystal Cathedral in Anaheim, Rockwell-LA, The Cicada Club and Restaurant, American Legion Hall in Hollywood, William Hearst Suite at the Historic Los Altos Hotel and Apartments, Westin LAX, the Republic of Pie in North Hollywood, Rapp Saloon in Santa Monica, Back Bay Bistro in New Port Beach, The Winery in New Port Beach, The Villa in Woodland Hills, The Luminarias in Monterey Park, The Village at Laguna Woods, University Club in Pasadena, Temenos 34, Push Play Music Festival in Pasadena and at the Cerritos Library, He has also performed at numerous Senior centers and communities, including Brookdale and Montecedro Communities and performs weekly at the Silverado Memory Community and at the CalVet Veterans Home.
In Chicago Steven has performed for Mayor Richard Daley, his wife Maggie, Illinois Governor Blagojevich, Indiana Governor Pence, Joe Kennedy (son of Robert Kennedy), numerous City of Chicago Aldermen, many of Chicago's top corporations, and has performed at many of the area's famous stages and festivals in Chicago, including Chicago’s Symphony Center half a dozen times. He has played at the Jazz Showcase during the annual CAMTA Jazz Festival ten times. He has also performed on the Pritzker Stage at Millennium Park, the Green Mill Jazz Club, the United Center, Navy Pier, Joe’s BeBop Café, Hot House, Chicago Cultural Center (Preston Bradley Hall & at the Randolph Street Cafe), the Annual Chicago Jazz Festival in Grant Park, Lincoln Park Festival, Park West Antique Fair, Lake View East Art Festival, Rogers Park Studio Walk and Street Fair, Antiques Chicago Exposition, Made in Chicago-Home Cooked Jazz Festival, Edgewater Alley Jazz Fest, Harry Osterman's 48th Ward Senior Fair, the Wilmette Festival and for the past five years performs at and is the 'resident' musician at the Edgewater Arts Festival.
From ages 11 to 18, Steven performed twice monthly at the popular Leona's Restaurant in Rogers Park in Chicago. He studied piano for 14 years with Julie Lovison, Director of the Lake Shore Music School, and continued his studies formally in Jazz and Classical piano for an additional four years at the School of Music at Western Illinois University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Music Education.
